Pantone 2020 Color of the Year
Being a lover of color, especially Shabby Paints, how have we managed to get this far into 2020 without discussing the Pantone Color of the Year? And by “we” I obviously mean me.
Anyway, if you’ve seen the 2020 Pantone Color of the year, the amazing Classic Blue, you are probably in love with it as I am. It’s not a bright blue, but not a navy either. It nestles right between them like a dusky evening sky.
And it’s inspiring. So inspiring that you must be wanting to paint ALL THE THINGS, right? I mean, it’s blue but it’s almost a neutral. Not quite but close. And it would look amazing with lots of different décors. But if you’re feeling the Classic Blue you might have noticed that none of the Shabby Paints colors are quite right…
Okay, so it’s true. There is no straight out of the jar alternative for Classic Blue. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Shabby Paints durable acrylic-based paints in that color. Have you ever considered mixing your own?
Custom Shabby Paints Color Creations
We see people make custom creations almost every day in their crafts here in the shop. So we decided to take the initiative to figure out which colors would make classic blue. And behold! This mix was achieved by mixing Indigo Sky and Marine Blue juuuuust right. To make your own, start with an Indigo Sky base and slowly mix in Marine Blue until it’s the right hue for you. And then, paint!
So now that you know how to achieve Classic Blue using your favorite chalk paints, what will you be making?
