Hi, I’m Jen! And I’m the woman behind Reclaimed By You. When you look at me, you might notice some crazy hair, or a sassy graphic tee, or perhaps a compression sleeve. Or maybe not. Who knows?
I am a wife to an amazing husband, and a mother to two awesome little girls. I also worked in corporate America for nearly 20 years, right up until I was diagnosed with stage 3C breast cancer. Then my life became about medical treatments, surgeries, and managing side effects and after effects. I am still managing those, for what it’s worth. But somewhere along the way, I realized there is something more for me than a desk and someone else’s dream.
So now I am spending my precious time building my own dream, which involves making crafts, having fun, and helping people. And it is my absolute joy and privilege that I am able to combine all of these things into one business.
Hello – I am Allison!
I was born and raised in Ellicott City – I graduated from Mt. Hebron High School in 2015 and have been pursuing a career path in Business. Not only am I a full-time college student, I am a team member of Reclaimed By You! I may be a little biased thinking this is the best company out there, but let me tell you my story:
Ever since I was diagnosed with a “mental illness”, I have had to learn various coping strategies to keep myself mentally happy and healthy. For me, establishing a full schedule and letting my creative juices flow are the best ways to keep myself well– when Jennifer asked me to become a team member of Reclaimed By You – I was ALL eyes and ears! Reclaimed By You is far more than a fun craft night – it has given me the opportunity to connect with our community and environment. It has given me the safe-space to innovate new ideas and go outside of my comfort zone. It has given me an outlet to be creative and inspire others about the importance of growing a community, saving our environment, and supporting small businesses and non-profit organizations.
My team and our mission have been a huge support in my ongoing battles to fight mental illness – so, for now I am going to keep my creative juices flowing and hope to inspire someone like YOU!
